Adoption pending! A tri-color male, just turned 4 years old in January. He was rescued from a puppy mill situation, and he is going to have to learn how life is outside the mill. He doesn't appear to bothered by it though - he is very sweet and friendly. He walked right up to his foster mom and even put his paws on her lap to get petted! He loves to run and play in the yard, and likes to be around other dogs. Trevor likes to prance around the yard, and is a happy dog.
Update 2/13/10: Trevor is doing very well on housebreaking, and will bark to let you know he wants to go outside. He was just neutered, and has not tried to "mark" since getting neutered. He rides very well in a car, and does not get car sick or cry/bark. He likes to be petted, and is playful with other dogs. He isn't skittish and doesn't appear to be phased by much, meaning he is very easy going and a happy boy!! This morning, he taught himself how to use the doggy door! He watched his foster brother/sister use it, and starting following them and now is going in/out the door on his own!
Update 2/19/10: Trevor is just a sweetie! He is consistently using the doggy door to go in/out, and is learning basic commands. He is trying very hard to please everyone, and doesn't meet a stranger.

On medical hold/Adoption pending- Rossi is a young blue merle male that was running loose in north Mississippi for a while. He had several wounds on his back (one large and several smaller ones) that appear to be from an attack by another dog. He was also dirty, matted, and had fleas. He is very heavy heartworm positive and is very sick right now. He is about 18 months to 2 years old. Update: he is home from the vet, is stable now, and will be starting heartworm treatment soon.
Bridget is a smaller sable female that came from a a group of 17 Shelties in Kansas that needed help. We are not sure if it was a puppymill, backyard breeder, collecter/hoarder or what. All the Shelties were dehydrated and thin and most are shy. She is about 2 years old.
Bridget has done well with socialization in various scenarios including being around a roomful of dogs undergoing obedience training. However, she's still relatively shy and will need to go to a home that's willing to continue her socialization. Bridget is a beautiful, sweet dog that just needs a patient owner that's able to accept her baggage from her "previous" life.
2/1/10 - Bridget is doing well with her socialization classes. In her foster home, she now walks around and will even sit on the couch! She is coming along slowly, and learning that life isn't so bad afterall. If you are interested in learning more about Bridget, please contact us.
2/19/10 - Bridget is making slow but steady progress. She is walking around the house and is taking treats consistently from her foster mom's hand! She is a sweet girl.
